Applications Open for 300,000 Social Tourism Vouchers by DYPA

Today, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA) launches the application process for its “Social Tourism Program 2025-2026”. Beneficiaries can apply according to the last digit of their Tax Identification Number (AFM), as follows:

* Last digit of AFM: 0 – Wednesday and Thursday, May 7 and 8

* Last digit of AFM: 1 – Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10

* Last digit of AFM: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 – Sunday and Monday, May 11 and 12

The programme is going to start on June 1, 2025 – earlier than ever before – and cover 300,000 vouchers, with a budget of €50 million.

The voucher is a unique number for each beneficiary and dependant/companion, allowing them to stay for up to 6 nights at an accommodation to be selected from DYPA’s “Provider Registry,” after arranging this with the respective provider and making a small private contribution.

Regarding, particularly, the islands of Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos, Samos and Rhodes, programme beneficiaries may stay for up to 10 nights free of charge (i.e. zero private contribution); moreover, in the municipalities of Northern Evia, Evros, and Thessaly (except for the Sporades islands), beneficiaries can stay for up to 12 nights free of charge.

Subsidy rates increase by 20% during the peak month of August and the holiday periods of Christmas (December 15, 2025 – January 14, 2026) and Easter (April 3 – April 19, 2026). The increased subsidy is valid year-round for accommodations in Northern Evia, Evros, and Thessaly (except for the Sporades islands).

In addition to accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidized. Beneficiary participation is 25%, while for persons with disabilities (PWD), tickets are free of charge.

The programme offers special credit points for single parents and PWD, as well as extra points for lower-income beneficiaries.

Besides, PWD may annually participate in the programme, be accompanied by one person, and obtain free ferry tickets. Moreover, they shall not be sanctioned in case they make no use of their vouchers.

Parents receive extra credit points for each minor child. Additional credit points are also awarded to those who have not previously received vouchers or were excluded in the last two social tourism programmes due to insufficient credit points.

Eligible beneficiaries:

  • Employees in a dependent private employment relationship, or
  • Those insured with e-EFKA in their professional category with unemployment insurance contributions to DYPA, at any time after January 1, 2024, or
  • Unemployed persons with at least three consecutive months of unemployment on the application deadline date.

The beneficiaries’ family income must not exceed €30,000. Different income criteria apply to LTU individuals (who must be unemployed for at least 12 months), as outlined in the Public Call.
